Run Your First Analysis
This guide walks you through running your first AEO analysis from start to finish. It takes about 2–3 minutes to complete your first analysis and understand what the results mean.
Navigate to New Analysis
From the dashboard, click New Analysis in the top navigation bar, or use the large + New Analysis button on your dashboard.
You'll land on a clean input page with two modes:
- URL mode — analyse an existing live page
- Keyword mode — get recommendations for content you want to create
Enter your URL or keyword
For URL analysis: paste the full URL including https://. The tool will fetch the live page and extract content automatically. Works best on public pages that aren't behind a login.
For keyword analysis: type the query you're targeting — for example, "what is the best CRM for small businesses" or "how to reduce SaaS churn". Be as specific as the question your target audience would ask an AI.
You can provide both — a URL to score your existing page and a keyword to tell the tool what query it should be optimized for. This gives more precise recommendations.
Review auto-detected context
When you enter a URL, the tool automatically detects:
- The primary keyword the page appears to target
- The industry or vertical (e.g., SaaS, ecommerce, healthcare)
- Up to 3 potential competitor URLs for gap analysis
You can edit any of these before running the analysis. If the auto-detected keyword looks wrong, replace it with your actual target query — this significantly improves recommendation quality.
Run the analysis
Click Analyse. The tool will:
- Fetch and render the page (5–15 seconds for URL analyses)
- Run scoring across all 7 AEO dimensions
- Generate prioritized recommendations
- Optionally fetch and score competitor pages if provided
- Build a fanout query map of related questions
Total analysis time is typically 20–45 seconds. With competitor analysis included, allow up to 90 seconds.
Read your results
Your results page has several sections:
Take action on recommendations
Start with Critical and High priority items. These typically have the biggest impact on your AEO score and visibility in AI responses.
Once you've made changes to your page, re-run the analysis to see your updated score. Use the score trend chart in Projects to track improvement over time.
