Billing & Subscriptions
Everything you need to know about managing your AEO Tool subscription — upgrading, downgrading, cancelling, and understanding your invoices.
Accessing billing settings
All subscription management is at Account → Billing. From here you can view your current plan, manage your payment method, download past invoices, and change your plan.
Upgrading your plan
You can upgrade at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately:
- Go to Account → Billing.
- Click 'Change plan'.
- Select your new plan and billing cycle (monthly or annual).
- Confirm your payment method.
- Click 'Upgrade now'.
- Your new plan is active instantly. You'll receive a prorated invoice for the remainder of the current billing period.
Downgrading your plan
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep your current plan's features until then. To downgrade:
- Go to Account → Billing → Change plan.
- Select the lower-tier plan.
- Confirm the downgrade. You'll see the effective date (end of current billing period).
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — there are no refunds for the remaining period, but you won't be charged again.
- Go to Account → Billing → Cancel subscription.
- You'll be asked to confirm and optionally provide a reason (optional — helps us improve).
- Confirm cancellation. Your account downgrades to Free at the end of the billing period.
- Free plan limits apply from that date. Your analysis history is retained.
Payment methods
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via Stripe. Enterprise plans can also be invoiced quarterly via bank transfer — contact us to arrange this.
To update your payment method, go to Account → Billing → Payment method → Update card.
Invoices and VAT
Invoices are sent automatically to your registered email address on each billing date. You can download past invoices from Account → Billing → Invoice history.
UK customers: VAT is charged at the standard rate (20%) on all plans. Your VAT number can be added at Account → Billing → Tax information — this will be displayed on all invoices going forward.
EU customers: UK VAT is not charged for B2B EU customers with a valid VAT number (reverse charge applies). Add your EU VAT number at Account → Billing → Tax information.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, we retry automatically on days 1, 3, and 7. You'll receive an email after each failed attempt with a link to update your payment method. If payment isn't resolved after 7 days, your account is temporarily suspended (data retained). Update your payment method to reactivate.
